FAMES Hawaii Scholarship

Mentoring, Educating, Motivating and Leadership Development

Empowering current and future entrepreneurs and leaders to achieve business and economic success while contributing back to the community.

What You Receive

FAMES Hawaii has been committed to empowering entrepreneurs and community leaders since its inception.

Minimum $1,000 Scholarship

Financial award granted to each qualifying scholarship recipient to support their educational journey.

1-Year FAMES Membership

Full membership with FAMES Hawaii — access to our network of entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders.

Complimentary Event Access

Free admission to FAMES Hawaii business events throughout the year to connect, learn, and grow.

Recipients will be recognized and awarded as outstanding individuals on stage at our 22nd Annual FAMES Gala — Saturday, October 10, 2026 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Scholarship recipients must be present to receive their award.

Eligibility & Selection

1Eligibility Requirements

High School Senior graduating in 2027

OR 1st or 2nd year college / Trade School student with proof of enrollment

Completed at least 20 hours of community service

Resident of Hawaii and a US citizen or Legal U.S. Resident

The FAMES Hawaii Scholarship is awarded regardless of race, sex, religion, age, national origin, or sexual orientation. FAMES Hawaii reserves the right not to award a scholarship in any given year.

Trade School / Apprenticeship Criteria

18 years of age

High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or proof of 10th grade education

Valid Driver's License

Must successfully complete and pass the Pre-Apprentice evaluation

2Selection Criteria

Demonstrated or expressed interest in Business Administration (preferred)

Student essay on the impact of volunteering

One letter of recommendation

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

Unofficial college transcript or letter from school/university including GPA

One-page essay: "How important and what impact does volunteering bring to your personal and professional world?" — Times New Roman 12pt

The committee will be especially interested in your notable qualities and examples of demonstrated leadership ability.
